The Caribbean International Film Festival (“CIFF”) intends to bring the most talented, creative, innovative and cutting edge filmmakers together to celebrate “THE ART OF FILMMAKING” in the beautiful, culturally rich Islands.
Film festivals play an invaluable role in society. They unite the masses in an environment where the arts of film and music, whether together or separately, enhance and preserve the ability to entertain, inform and raise consciousness about issues concerning every race and culture. Film also conveys information to those with limited access to other media resources.
Barbados is an exquisite destination that deserves to be front and center on the world stage. The region welcomes expanding its movie-going experiences from almost exclusively “first-run” films to include regional, U.S. and international films. This would enable a greater understanding of the art of film, its craft, and its craftsmen.
The Caribbean International Film Festival will also promote the global cultures by highlighting through the power of film and related media, the importance of domestic and global cultures, history, institutions, and other forms of entertainment and celebration.
